FAQ

Here are the answers to some of the most common questions we are asked by our clients. Please contact us at (973) 305-3652 if you have any other questions or would like more information about our veterinary hospital in Wayne, NJ.

?

When should I spay/neuter my pet?

The traditional age for spaying or neutering a dog or cat is around  6 months. However, individual patient needs can differ, so you should discuss your pet’s specific circumstances with one of our doctors.

?

Do you accept pet insurance?

We can certainly provide you with all the medical records you need to submit a claim to any pet insurance company, but payment is due at the time of service.

?

Should I give my pet heartworm and flea/tick medicine during the winter?

Yes, as fleas and ticks can live in your home, leaving your pet at risk during winter months even if they never go outside.  Furthermore, warmer winter months have meant that fleas and ticks remain a risk when your pet does go outside.

?

Do you provide boarding and/or grooming?

No, we do not. We focus exclusively on providing outstanding medical care. We can give you the names of groomers and boarders in the area, however.

?

Do you perform at-home euthanasia?

In some situations, yes – but only after extensive consultation with one of our doctors.

?

Should I microchip my pet?

Yes, absolutely.  Microchipping is a painless process which enables lost pets to be quickly reunited with their owners! It can even be done during a spay/neuter so they won’t feel anything at all.
